FBI arrested Wednesday one of its “10 Most Wanted” fugitives on charges of murdering two Columbus State University students last year.According to a news release on the arrests, Michael Jason Registe was captured in St. Maarten after a series of tips led authorities to a guest house in the Belvedere section of Dutch St. Maarten in the Caribbean. Registe will have a extradition hearing before he is returned to the United States. The process could take as long as two weeks.High school friends Bryan Kilgore, 20, and Randy Newton Jr., 21, were both shot in the head execution-style on July 20, 2007, in a Columbus apartment complex parking lot. They died within hours of each other.The FBI did not state a motive for the killings.
Registe, 25, was named one of the FBI’s Top Ten Fugitives in July 2008.
