Federal authorities in Chicago have charged an elderly bomb expert and a member of the Outlaws biker gang with blowing up a suburban gaming house in 2003.Mark Polchan, 41, and Samuel Volpendesto, 84, are accused of bombing C&S Coin Operated Amusements in Berwyn because it interfered with the mob's gaming business, The Chicago Sun-Times reported Wednesday.Prosecutors say the two worked with reputed mobster Michael Sarno to destroy C&S because its owners refused to follow mob orders.Court filings identify Polchan as a high-ranking member of the Outlaws biker gang with a wide-ranging criminal history.Despite his age, prosecutors consider Volpendesto a flight risk and a danger to the community.Federal authorities planned to ask that both men be kept behind bars pending trial.If convicted, the men face of a minimum of 35 years to life in prison.
