Jesus Freyre of the 1900 block of Evergreen Avenue was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm. The Class X felony charge automatically transferred Freyre to adult rather than Juvenile Court, Cook County prosecutors said.Assistant Cook County State's Atty. Ryan Whitney said Freyre was identified as the person who fired three shots at a car at Church Street and Sycamore Avenue in Hanover Park on Saturday, wounding the front-seat passenger, Whitney said. Freyre led police to an abandoned house where he had hidden the handgun used in the incident, Whitney said. Freyre was a gang member and believed the victim was a member of a rival gang, Freyre said. The 18-year-old victim was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates where he was treated for a gunshot wound in his left arm, authorities said.
