Travis T. Horton of Newport News was sentenced after pleading guilty to charges including conspiracy, maiming, racketeering and brandishing a firearm  

Dump Squad gang ,Travis T. Horton, a 21-year-old Newport News resident who prosecutors say was affiliated with the Dump Squad gang, had entered a guilty plea in May to charges of racketeering, conspiracy, maiming, brandishing a firearm in a robbery, and conspiracy to burn the Newport News Police Department's High Impact Patrol station in the Harbor Homes apartment complex.U.S. District Judge Rebecca Beach Smith sentenced him to 37 years in prison.
Neal H. MacBride, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of VIrginia, said in a release: "This case shows the brazen attempts by street gangs to intimidate the community and law enforcement. This sentence should send a clear signal that these gangs are not above the law." Travis T. Horton, who allegedly has ties with a Newport News street gang known as the Dump Squad, also pleaded guilty to charges he attempted to burn down the Newport News Police Department's High Impact Patrol station.U.S. Attorney Neal H. MacBride applauded Wednesday's sentencing by U.S. District Judge Rebecca Beach Smith."This case shows the brazen attempts by street gangs to intimidate the community and law enforcement. This sentence should send a clear signal that these gangs are not above the law," MacBride said in a release.
