Hells Angels trial still is searching for one more juror.Jury selection will continue Tuesday after lawyers for the Crown and four alleged Hells Angels members exhausted a jury pool Monday.Today will be the fourth day of jury selection for the trial, which could last nine months.Jury selection, which began last week, resumed Monday with one more juror to be selected and two alternates, which are chosen in case a juror falls ill or decides to withdraw before the trial starts.The final juror and one alternate were picked Monday, and the second alternate juror is expected to be chosen today. The trial is expected to start Wednesday.
The judge told potential jurors that the four accused -- Jean Joseph Violette, Ronaldo Lising, Randall Richard Potts and John Virgil Punko -- are all alleged members of the East End chapter of the Hells Angels in Vancouver.
The 28-count indictment alleges the Hells Angels chapter is a criminal organization and that its members committed crimes such as extortion and uttering death threats "for the benefit of, at the direction of, or in association with a criminal organization, to wit the East End charter of the Hells Angels."Other charges contained in the indictment include possession of grenades, illegal semi-automatic handguns and silencers.
